The Tiny House Family

I really love this story from Yahoo! Finance. This family took a financial setback and made it into an opportunity to live the life of their choosing. They built (by hand!) an itty-bitty house on three acres and saved like crazy so they could pursue the things that make them happy.

If that's not custom-building a life, then I don't know what is.

    Oo! We are OBSESSED with the tiny house movement. In my dreams, our summer camp would be filled with several of these: http://www.tumbleweedhouses.com/ It would be awesome for writer retreats and such. Meanwhile, our everyday house would ideally shrink from 2500 sq ft to something like 1000, which is ginormous by "tiny house" standards, but we probably won't be able to just build in the location we most want to live.

    Anyway, hadn't seen this blog so this will be a fine distraction from my work this morning. :D Thanks!

    I still desperately want to buy that campground. Let's go in together and buy it and we can fill it with yurts. You check your couch cushions, I'll shake my kids down for change.
